KID SISTER Summer Workshop (2023)
Performing Arts Building @ University of Utah
“Niko and Camden invite you to join KID SISTER for an evening of ensemble-stimulated movement composition and physical storytelling. We will offer elements of our devising process for you to experiment and innovate with while collaborating with others in the space with us—we hope to gather persons of all ages and bodies. This workshop will be our launching event for a three-month extravaganza of expanding our community of makers and friends. The ninety-minute movement workshop will be followed by a post-playground chat and mingling.”
WE PLAYED TOGETHER on June 8th from 7:30 to 9:30 PM!

EVERYTHING IS ABOUT SOMETHING (2022)
Performing Arts Building @ University of Utah
“Welcome to KID SISTER’s second production of our inaugural season. We will share eight volumes of compiled poetry written by our Niko. Early in the process, we decided to draft the possibilities of mobilizing Niko’s poems. We conjure you to engage in the individual journeys of each volume and feel-into particular themes which linger under the surface of the entire series. Everything is About Something runs approximately thirty minutes. As a content advisory, there is an allusion to suicide contemplation. If you need to leave the performance space, Camden will be at the speaker near the south door to usher you out of the space. The shape of your viewing experience is tailored to offer the sensations of an intimate hallway which mimics a runway and a place of vulnerable exposure.”
WE DANCED TOGETHER on December 9th and 10th at 7:30 PM.

WORKSHOP II (2022)
Performing Arts Building @ University of Utah
“Hello! Niko and Camden from KID SISTER here. We are looking for enthusiastic actors interested in collaborating with us to compose our second piece for our inaugural year. Our goal is to devise a movement-based performance piece from a laboratory space sensitive to “exquisite pressure.” We hope for company and audience member participation in new work based on collective impulses and wonders. This workshop is intended for us all to engage our curious minds and emotional cores. In the interest of developing a non-hierarchical creative space, we will be deriving rehearsal practices predominantly from Chelsea Pace and Anne Bogart. We look forward to playing with you!”
WE PLAYED TOGETHER on October 22nd from 8:45 to 11:00 AM.
-
KITE FLYER (2022)
Memory Grove Park
“Welcome to KID SISTER’s inaugural production of Kite Flyer. For seven rehearsals, KID SISTER devised Kite Flyer based on improvisation, experimentation and what director Anne Bogart calls “exquisite pressure.” We have ensured a non-hierarchical dynamic between us as the directors and our glorious company of three: Carter Anderson, Aly Carter, and Tyler VanOostendorp, and we extend our tremendous gratitude to Alexandra Harbold for her genius insight and offerings throughout the process. The park is an environment of leisure, community, reunion, and play. We encourage you to engage with the space and adjust and move around as necessary.”
WE PICNICKED on July 26th at 7:30 PM and July 27th at 5:00 PM.

WORKSHOP I (2022)
Price Theatre Arts Building @ University of Utah
“Hello! Niko and Camden here. We are thrilled to introduce our theatre company, KID SISTER, to all of you. We are looking for three to four actors interested in exploring our inaugural theme: making peace with not understanding. Our goal is to devise a movement-based performance piece in a laboratory space sensitive to “exquisite pressure,” which allows an audience to participate in a new work based on our collective impulses and wonders. WORKSHOP I is intended for us all to engage with curiosity; this is a process of discovery and collaboration. We will be deriving rehearsal practices predominantly from Frantic Assembly, Chelsea Pace, Anne Bogart, and Jerzy Grotowski. We look forward to playing with you!”
WE PLAYED TOGETHER on July 1st from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
